When I need a Virtual Machine often I need to have UEFI in replacement of traditional bios. Then if you use like me the VMWare Player 7.X that is free of charge for a personal use, you will see that there is not a lot of options in the settings panel and of course nothing about the bios settings!

To enable UEFI on a specific virtual machine we just need to edit the .vmx in the folder of our virtual machine and add this new option at the end of the file.

firmware = "efi"

Start your virtual machine and now the bios is replaced by UEFI.
By carreful GPT (GUID Partition Table) is needed for UEFI!
